Welcome, Verónica Guerrero.

Dorf & Nelson LLP is pleased to announce that Verónica Guerrero has joined the firm as Counsel and Head of the Matrimonial & Family Law Group.

Ms. Guerrero joins Dorf & Nelson with over a decade of Family and Matrimonial Law experience. She offers comprehensive and individualized attention to clients going through divorce, child custody, visitation disputes, and child support negotiations. Before representing and advising clients in matters of marriage, family and custody allocation, Ms. Guerrero worked at the Law Office of Marvin A. Cooper, P.C., in White Plains, New York and served as Court Attorney to the Supreme Court Administrative Judge, Luis A. Gonzalez, and Assistant District Attorney to Westchester County’s District Attorney, Jeanine Pirro.

Ms. Guerrero taught as an English-Spanish, Bilingual Special Education teacher at a dual-language programmed school in the New York State Educational Department for a number of years. The compassion and attention she showed her students continues today in the way she advises and represents her clients. Ms. Guerrero’s language duality makes her more accessible to a wider range of clients, and allows her to reach and serve a larger part of the community.

Ms. Guerrero provided additional community service by sitting on the Board of Pamela C. Torres Day Care Center, founded by Judge Frank Torres in honor of his 4 year old daughter who passed away from leukemia. She previously sat on the Board of Project Morry, a nationally recognized youth development organization that empowers youth from underserved communities.

Ms. Guerrero graduated from New York University with her Bachelor’s Associate in Psychology, and received her Juris Doctorate Degree from St. John’s University School of Law. She is admitted to the New York State Bar and is an active member of the Puerto Rican Bar Association where she previously served as liaison. She is also member of the Dominican Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. She looks forward to becoming a member of the Westchester Bar Association in the near future.

From Everyone at Dorf & Nelson LLP, Welcome.
