This past December, our trial team showed that they are never reluctant to take a verdict when necessary and demonstrated their experience and fortitude in a courtroom performance that yielded superior results. Our team, headed up by Jonathan B. Nelson, Chair of the Litigation Department, tried a three week trial before Justice Edgardo Ramos in the United States Federal District Court in the Southern District of New York.
“It was a truly a team effort,” explained Jonathan Nelson. “With over 300 exhibits, nine witnesses and two experts, having Jon Dorf share some of the heavy lifting was invaluable and, seasoned paralegal, Abbie Rodriguez, made us all look good.”
Representing the Defendants, who counterclaimed with causes of action in this multimillion dollar lawsuit sounding in Lanham Act violations, unfair trade practices, false advertisement and breaches of contract, Dorf & Nelson succeeded in obtaining a verdict in their favor that far exceeded Plaintiffs’ recovery.
“Of course I am exceedingly proud of the result, but the greater source of my pride comes from the contributions of virtually everyone at the firm.” Jonathan continued, “I have always loved trying cases since my days as a prosecutor in Brooklyn. I hope that this experience helped to spark in others that excitement and that interest.”
