After a month long trial in Staten Island, a case defended by John Lyddane and Stephanie McDougall resulted in a unanimous verdict in support of three physicians involved.
The case involved a patient who had been hospitalized, diagnosed and later on discharged. The patients plan was to get a second opinion at a different hospital and return to the first hospital to start treatment. At the second hospital the patient was treated for a stroke and claimed this had occurred due to delay of treatment from doctors at the first hospital. The jury found that there was no departure from accepted standards of practice in their management and the patient was awarded no damages.
Congratulations to John, Stephanie and the Medical Malpractice Defense Group for another great win!
