In addition to his legal and business experience at Salomon Brothers, Inc., Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP, Mr. Kaplan also serves as a long standing Board member, Chairman, member and Director of nonprofit organizations and charities, including the 92nd Street Y, the Roosevelt Institute, The Philadelphia Eagles Youth Foundation and the American Jewish Historical Society. His commitment to serving the community and to servicing his clients mirrors the values espoused at Dorf & Nelson. Mr. Kaplan served in the U.S. Navy as an officer in both the Korean and the 1st Vietnam conflict. He was a Board member of Barton’s Candy Corporation and was Chairman of the Executive Committee of Perry H Kopik & Sons Inc., an international forest products brokerage firm. Mr. Kaplan received his LL.B from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College. He is married to Renee Touriel.
