Clare McKenna is a seasoned transactional real estate attorney in Dorf & Nelson’s Commercial Real Estate Department. She has wide-ranging expertise in representing clients and managing multi-faceted real estate matters from inception through closing, and post-closing.
Her experience includes acting as counsel in transactions such as purchases, construction loans, commercial loans, refinancings, condo / coop sales, and modifications. She has routinely represented parties in complex matters involving the acquisition of real property, construction & development, landlords & tenant transactions, the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, as well as the preparation of mortgages and private notes.
Prior to Dorf & Nelson, she worked at the law firms of David M. Gladstone, PLLC, David A. Nigrelli, PLLC, and Bartlett, McDonough, Bastone & Monaghan, LLP. She has also worked on title, zoning, and land use issues, where she sought to create mutually beneficial solutions using industry best practices.
Clare’s expertise extends to an understanding of institutional client needs and industry-wide best practices. She has led weekly roundtable meetings between corporate banking clients and vendor management teams. She has also created and implemented firm-wide policies and procedures, including IT risk policies, asset control policies, and business operation & disaster recovery procedures.
Clare is a New York State commissioned notary public and is a former paralegal in the area of medical malpractice defense law.
