Rod Biermann, Esq., Practice Group Head of Dorf & Nelson’s Employment Law Group has consistently been selected as a speaker for his expertise and advice regarding a wide array of employment law issues. His most recent lecture topic has been legal issues that arise during employee terminations. This presentation explores such topics as the eight significant employer termination mistakes, what constitutes a legal hostile work environment, preventing discrimination when an employer reduces its work force, the best practices for termination meetings and how to avoid litigation when terminating an employee.

Mr. Biermann delivered this lecture recently at the New York City Bar to a crowd of roughly one hundred attendees and this past Saturday at Marino Legal Academy, an institution that has provided Continuing Legal Education since 1946. Mr. Biermann’s next speaking engagement will be held May 18th at 8:30 a.m. at the Business Council of Westchester headquarters where he has been the selected speaker to present at the BCW’s Human Resources Council meeting.
