Eleanor Makris is a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and Healthcare & General Liability Defense Group.
Mrs. Makris represents individual and institutional clients in medical malpractice and general liability cases. She has extensive experience in the defense and counseling of hospitals, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, mental health providers, and other senior level administrative healthcare professionals throughout New York State. As a former plaintiff’s lawyer and in her current role as a defense lawyer, Mrs. Makris has tried medical malpractice cases to verdict in New York State. She has experience in all stages of litigation and has handled the successful resolution of complex, high exposure medical malpractice claims.
Mrs. Makris, a Rochester, NY native, spent the first ten years of her career in Buffalo, where she represented plaintiffs in medical malpractice, products liability, and mass torts cases from inception through trial or other case resolution. She moved to Westchester in 2021, where she spent the next two (2) years as a plaintiff’s medical malpractice lawyer for a firm in White Plains. Immediately prior to joining Dorf Nelson & Zauderer LLP, Mrs. Makris was Counsel to a litigation firm in New York City, where she dedicated her practice to the defense of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence matters.
Mrs. Makris continues to reside in Westchester, where she lives with her husband, Jim Makris, a Partner in the Firm.
